Iain is currently working full-time as a Lecturer of Maths and Physics, and has worked in Secondary and Further Education since 2009. Prior to that he worked as a client-server software developer and management information data analyst for IBM UK between 2000 and 2009. He was awarded a BSc (Hons) in Physics with Space Science and Technology from the University of Leicester in 1997 and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education from Roehampton University in 2010.
He created the A-level Physics podcast The Equations Are Your Friends in 2025 and is developing an accompanying textbook, which will hopefully be available sometime before the heat-death of the universe.
Iain is also an occasional novelist in the science-fiction and fantasy genres and a sporadic creator of decorative ceramics.
He lives in Surrey with his partner, an unreasonably large number of computers, an Ikea shark (called Bruce), a fleet of more than 100 miniature starships and a modest collection of ceramic art.
